Gilpin County Arts Association
Located in the heart of Central City, CO. This quaint little town is just the place to for a quick day trip. Tucked away in the mountains about an hour outside of Denver. The scenic drive through the mountains to get here was probably my favorite part of the trip! The city itself is small but with lots of rustic charm. You can take a free shuttle from Black Hawk or walk the 1.5 miles up to Central City. Spent couple hours walking around. The Gilpin County Arts Association was by far my favorite place we visited. This Art Center is on par with any you’d find in larger cities. Defiantly the highlight of my time spent town.

Joshua Tree Astronomy Arts Theater
I took my children here to see the Perseid shower. It was very laid back, all of the volunteers were very kind and so excited to share what they know! I would absolutely go again! Bring your own folding chair(s) to make sure you get a seat, but there is plenty of room to stand and observe.
Noah Purifoy Foundation
Great art installation in the middle of the desert. Not hard to find. Spent about an hour here.
World Famous Crochet Museum
This place is so quirky and unique..while it’s tiny, there are so many crochet goods and I was trying to observe every colorful bits! Free to enter but you can leave a tip or purchase something from the Art Queen store next door.
Old Schoolhouse Museum
The people here are super kind! They know a lot of history of the area and it’s really a wonderful piece of history!
